Swap Asia’s commitment to innovation and forward-thinking was on full display at the SAP NOW AI Tour Southeast Asia 2025 in Singapore. Held from July 24 to 25, the event gathered over 1,000 attendees from various industries. This honour not only highlighted Swap Asia’s growing prominence in the supply chain industry but also its successful digital transformation journey.
Representing Swap Asia were Chief Financial Officer Andrew Shao and VP of Regional Operations Rajivan Baskerin. The duo took the stage to share their real-world experiences with a significant transformation: the implementation of SAP solutions to modernise the company’s supply chain and warehouse operations.
Sharing the Journey and Its Impact
Speaking alongside industry leaders from companies like Mondelez, Zespri, and Unilab, Andrew and Rajivan provided a powerful narrative of how technology, when implemented correctly, can have a measurable and positive impact on a business. Their presentation focused on Swap Logistics & Distribution’s digital transformation journey, a collaborative effort with SAP Gold Partner, Westernacher Consulting.
A key highlight of their talk was the successful implementation of several advanced solutions:
- SAP S/4HANA and eWM solutions: These were integrated with AutoStore, a next-generation robotic storage and retrieval system.
- AutoStore: This high-density cube storage system, powered by intelligent robots, retrieves bins from a grid of stacked containers.
- Seamless Integration: The system is seamlessly integrated with SAP Extended Warehouse Management (eWM), enabling an efficient and precise “Goods-to-Person” flow.
This transformation is a key milestone in Swap Asia’s digital journey toward a smarter, more agile, and scalable logistics ecosystem. The team successfully streamlined inbound and outbound operations for greater efficiency, underscoring the practical challenges and measurable results of their efforts.
For both Andrew and Rajivan, the experience was more than just a speaking engagement. They were energised by the openness and high-energy atmosphere of the event, valuing the opportunity to connect with peers. As Rajivan put it, the event was “a platform to connect and learn what is new and latest out there.”
Embracing the Future of AI
A key takeaway from the tour was the potential of tools like the SAP Business Technology Platform and Joule to enhance business operations. The team returned with a renewed focus on how conversational AI, specifically for warehouse operations, can help Swap Asia Group work smarter, respond faster, and stay ahead of the curve.
Swap Asia’s invitation to speak and the positive reception of Andrew and Rajivan’s joint perspective solidifies the company’s position as a leader in the supply chain management track. This event was a powerful affirmation of Swap Asia’s continuous commitment to embracing innovation and technology to drive business excellence.
